Marleni, originally from Guatemala, enjoyed a profession in business administration for 24 years. During this time, she held the position of administrative manager in two different technology and computing companies. In 2015, she made the decision to immigrate to the United States with her husband and three children.

A love for quality food drove her to pursue a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Administration and Chef at the university. She went on to establish two thriving businesses – “If I Can, You Can (Snacks & Coffee)” in Guatemala City in 2014 and “Melura Catering” in Los Angeles, California in 2016.

Through her catering business, she encountered Chicas Mom Inc., and initially offered the services of her company. However, she later decided to stay on as a volunteer and assist with editing the organization’s monthly newsletters and participating in events. As time passed, she became a crucial member of the team.

Marleni finds participating in a nonprofit organization to be fulfilling and enjoyable. This is not her first time in a leadership or volunteer position, as she has previously served in her church in Guatemala. She values her community and strives to continue her legacy of love and solidarity. Keeping God at the forefront of everything is essential to her and her family.

She has been the corporate secretary and director at Chicas Mom Inc., since 2019. Along with that, she is responsible for organizing the monthly MSM (Moms Supporting Moms) program, “I Love Myself” Desayunos con Propósito, a fundraising event, and the monthly fundraising bazaar.

Marleni strongly advocates for volunteerism within her community, highlighting the immense joy and fulfillment that comes with giving.
